Acronym,Abbreviation & Jargon

Acronym:

               

 A word that is formed by combining some parts (usually the first letters) of some other terms is called acronym.

Examples:

• TIA............. Thanks in advance. ( social networking) 
• Acl.......... Anterior cruciate ligament.  (medical terms)
• AKA............Above knee amputation. (medical terms)

Abbreviations:

    A short form of a word or a phrase is called abbreviation.

 

Examples:

• AAMOF........ As a matter of facts. (Business field)

• AIUI..............As I understand it . (Business field)

• ASL..............Assistant section leader. (Business field)

Jargon:

Special words or expressions used by a profession or group that are difficult for others to understand is called jargon.

Examples:

• ABG.........Arterial blood gas reading.(medical field)

• ACE.........Angiotension converting enzyme.(medical field)

• PTOSIS........Drooping of the eyelid.(medical field)

First Day Of The 5th Semester

                                        
                                            It was the moment of truth, when I finally arrived to the University, my body was petrified. I could not imagine . It was me and a new world. A new group of teachers with different points of view, different subject and different course, a different life style. I do not know how but, the environment was completely different from the one that I used to live in last four semester. Somehow the air was different because the smell was different from the common. All these points made me realize one thing. I’m in a new world.
The teachers was behaving very strictly. It seems that a lamb in the front of lion. They were teaching in such a way that , there will be no day or no class in the future. Simply delivering the last lecture of their life. 
Every thing was looking very odd and new. But my meeting the class fellows and romates happiness came again. In the evening we go to the Nawazish Khan cafe and released the whole tiredness.

Self-Introduction

My name is Muhammad Gul Sher. I am studying at University Of Engineering & Technology. Many years of hard working and strict training have made me a qualified Higher school student with high qualities.

I have a good relationship with my classmates and teachers as I am generally sociable in personality. I am thoughtful and helpful in university. As for my study, I pay special attention to the development of my thinking manners so that I become quick in thinking and broad in knowledge. Seeking reality and progress, I have achieved excellence in my study. I particularly love such subjects as math, physics. I am strong in logical thinking and oral expressing. I am creative and unique in views on certain matters. I have won many awards in the above subjects .

Morally I may say I am also excellent, because I am strict with myself, following the school’s rules and regulations, taking active part in various activities, displaying great interest in our country’s important events like Mugheera youth Development Socity and country affairs. I love our motherland and our people and I am trying to get the party membership. All this has led me to win the “PEEF Scholarship”.

In addition, I have developed many hobbies in my life. For example, I love reading, computer and Internet, music and sports. I have been a champion several times in our school’s sports meet.

In short, as a student studying at University Of Engineering & Technology, I am determined to make my own contribution to our country’s diplomatic affaires.
